Winter Olympic Games

Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende will visit the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver from 11 to 13 February 2010. While there, he will attend a number of events and meet Dutch athletes and fans

Later, the prime minister will speak with Canadian veterans who fought in the Netherlands during the Second World War. In tribute to their service, he will present them with a special commemorative medal. Mr Balkenende will also meet with representatives of Dutch and Canadian businesses.

State Secretary for Health, Welfare and Sport Jet Bussemaker will visit Vancouver later in the month, from 13 to 18 February.
